When connecting two laptops together via a Wireless Ad Hoc network, is it possible to save the connection?

I've created a Wireless Ad Hoc network in Windows Vista to share the internet with another laptop, but each time the computer is restarted, the guest laptop cannot find the network so I need to create a new Ad Hoc network each time the computer starts, which is rather a pain.

I've checked the box "Save this network" when creating the Ad Hoc network, but that just makes the network stay on the network list, the guest laptop still cannot find the network when the laptop is restarted.

What is a VPN?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia…).
